The Fredonia Trap Team recently completed their first six week fall season. The team consisted of 8 new students with 5 returning from the 2023 spring season. New students took to the sport like ducks to water. As always safety was key and all did very well. Thankfully students saw much milder weather throughout the fall season, a welcome change from the 2023 spring season.
Fredonia competed amongst 9 other school teams across New York State in their conference and held steady through the season finishing in fourth place. New students consistently improved their scores from the beginning and the returning students topped their previous best scores.
The following athletes received accolades at the November 1 awards dinner: Kyle Pierce shot into 1st place with a 22.90 average, Daniel Cook broke into 2nd place with a 20.50 average, Aidan Kinney pulled into 3rd place with a 19.90 average. Cooper Stenger, a new addition to the team, received the team/s most improved award.
Now that the fall season is in the books, work begins on the 2024 spring season starting March 31 with several students returning to compete and go to the state competition in Bridgeport, NY.
Thanks and appreciation goes to all supporters, parents, coaches, and especially Hanover Fish and Game club for the use of their facilities.
