The Fredonia Central School District has established a long-standing tradition of academic excellence. Many graduates who distinguished themselves in the classroom and in scholastic competition continued to distinguish themselves after graduation.

The Alumni Hall of Fame will recognize individuals who have, through their performance, conduct and achievement brought credit and honor to themselves and the Fredonia Central School District. Their public example will serve to inspire future graduates to perform and serve in the same spirit.

The Fredonia Central School District Alumni Hall of Fame Committee is currently inviting nominations for candidates for the Fredonia Central School District Alumni Hall of Fame. This distinguished award honors individuals whose deeds and character exemplify outstanding achievement in their life’s work and/or service to their communities. The honoree’s spirit and leadership are worthy of recognition and have inspired praise and gratitude among his or her peers. Nominations may be made by alumni, parents, staff, faculty, current students, administrators and citizens of our community. Nomination forms are available in the main office at Fredonia High School and also linked below.

Eligibility Requirements:

• The recipient must have graduated from the Fredonia Central School District at least ten years ago.

• The recipient has been recognized for a high level of achievement in his/her field and made significant contributions to that field at the local, state, national, and/or international levels.

• The recipient has demonstrated qualities of leadership, character, and service in a variety of ways within his/her field of expertise and has motivated others to achieve their highest potential.

• The recipient has demonstrated a commitment to life-long learning.

• Nominations for posthumous awards will be considered. Descendants will need to approve any posthumous nominations.

A committee comprised of present/former teachers, parents, administrators, and alumni will review the nominations and select the persons to be honored every two years. Once nominated, a graduate will remain on the nomination list until the time he/she is chosen by induction by the selection committee. The committee will select up to four individuals to be honored each year the award is given. Honorees will be recognized at the annual Academic Awards Assembly (attendance is optional) and at an arranged evening banquet held in June. Persons selected by the committee will be notified by the selection committee.

Each inductee will be honored with a picture and plaque to be enshrined in the distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame at Fredonia High School.
