Thanks to everyone who donated food to our annual Feed Fredonia Challenge! Each year, we keep the tradition going of collecting non-perishable food items from throughout the school which are then donated to our Fredonia Food Pantry. Our kids are proud to serve and excited to learn about how they are helping others around the holiday season. Pictured is Emily Thie's class, who assisted with collecting and sorting the many donations. Thanks to everyone who pitched in!

This week is School Board Recognition Week! Please join us in thanking our hardworking Board of Education members. It's important to remember that Board members are volunteers. Behind the scenes, they serve on committees, work as a governance team in partnership with the Superintendent, and review, discuss, and seek to understand a vast amount of information about the district. Thank you Mr. Aldrich, Mr. Johnston, Mrs. Powell Fortna, Mr. Marshall, Ms. Starkey Hahn, Mrs. Gullo, and Mr. Hawk!

It might be a rainy day, but that didn't chase away our excitement for Fire Prevention Day! Thank you to the Fredonia Fire Department for spending time with our Elementary students teaching them about fire safety and prevention.

Students in Mr. Burkett's elementary classroom are having lots of fun learning about letters and even making home made play dough! We love to see such great examples of hands-on learning happening in the classroom.

We think every member of our #fredoniafamily should be able to have a ton of fun on Halloween! If you have a gently used costume at home, or would like to purchase one to give, please consider donating! Costumes may be dropped off at our main offices.

Over the weekend, our girls tennis team played in doubles county championships. The girls varsity tennis team shared the league title with Southwestern with a 6-2 overall record and a 5-1 league record. Lucy Prevet and Nella Darrell-Sterbak qualified for the sectionals tournament at the Miller Tennis Center this Friday October 14th in Buffalo NY. The girls will represent Chautauqua county as the #1 doubles team. Way to go, girls!

FHS is excited to welcome and host Raissa Carmelo as a Rotary exchange student from Brazil! Raissa is a junior and is currently participating in the volleyball team and is looking forward to joining ski club this winter.
